To be Treasured
The use of glass represents how fragile and precious part of the New Zealand way of life is. The New Zealand Stitchbird is known to chirp out warning signs of impending danger, in this case the loss of some of our beautiful coastlines, the unique wildlife, or the simple bach retreat.
My series for 2017 is a reflection of my thoughts and inspirations during the year. They are gentle reminders to myself of how precious time, family and the environment are to us. Many of these thoughts are represented in my works by the humble bee. I’ve admired the importance of bees throughout my studies in environmental science and more so since moving to New Zealand
