Gender equality is being discussed within the media and in some cases it’s being recognised as the realisation of both modern and economic efficiency, the Kingfisher represents prosperity, the gentleman’s watch to represents a male perspective and time for change, the Camelia flower, worn by the suffragette Kate Sheppard, represents New Zealand as the first country to allow women the vote in 1983. The scales show the balance between male and female.

About the Artist
Established Auckland artist Angie Dennis has been painting professionally since 2002. Angie studied environmental science which perhaps explains her love for preserving flora and fauna in her artworks. Angie is continually inspired by the unique landscape of New Zealand and is constantly pushing boundaries on how she sees life in her new found home. Her work is displayed in collections throughout New Zealand and internationally and were also displayed on the TVNZ set for the 2007 America’s cup. Angie exhibits in a number of galleries around New Zealand and also combines home with gallery where she creates her unique and original artwork. Angie’s prints are produced to the highest quality, using UV light fast inks and printed and framed in New Zealand.
