Nurture You - Art Print

Angie Dennis' artwork for 2020 is inspired by self-reflection and the ongoing search for happiness.  She heard that the secret to happiness is when you stop looking for it.  2020 has been a year none of us will forget due to the global effects of COVID19. Many people I’ve spoken to have talked about how lockdown was a time of reflection and working out what was important or not to them, as always her pieces aim to create further discussion on the subject.  

NURTURE YOU Inspired by the Italian artist Sandro Boticelli, The Birth of Venus which suggests the idea of divine love and the contemplation of physical and spiritual beauty. This artwork symbolises the journey into looking after yourself before you are ready to give to others.  The necklace, a twisted knot depicts infinite love for yourself, her eyes are closed for internal reflection, the pattern on the bath represents infinite love and the lily for compassion.

About the Artist

Established Auckland artist Angie Dennis has been painting professionally since 2002. Angie studied environmental science which perhaps explains her love for preserving flora and fauna in her artworks. Angie is continually inspired by the unique landscape of New Zealand and is constantly pushing boundaries on how she sees life in her new found home.  Her work is displayed in collections throughout New Zealand and internationally and were also displayed on the TVNZ set for the 2007 America’s cup.  Angie exhibits in a number of galleries around New Zealand and also combines home with gallery where she creates her unique and original artwork. Angie’s prints are produced to the highest quality, using UV light fast inks and printed and framed in New Zealand.
