The Space Within by Jane Crisp - Decal
Featuring artwork by talented New Zealand artists, decorative wall decals are a simple way to add colour, character and personality to any room. Easy to apply and remove, they're perfect for creating beautiful spaces you'll love.
How do I apply my decal to a wall?
It is important that your wall surface is smooth, clean, and dry. Ensure the wall has been thoroughly wiped to remove all dust or dirt before applying the decal. We recommend not to apply it to textured surfaces or damp walls as the decal will not adhere properly. If your wall is freshly painted allow at least 3 weeks for the paint to fully cure before you apply the decal.
- Decide where you want to apply the decal and ensure the decal is level.
- Peel a small section of the backing paper off at the top of the decal and stick this part in place.
- Slowly pull the rest of the back paper off, while at the same time using a soft, clean cloth to smooth the decal into place. Pushing out any air bubbles as you go.
- If the decal’s new location is not quite right you can peel the decal off and start again.
When applying or removing a large decal we recommend that using two people is beneficial.
Please Note: As there are so many colour and size combinations in the decal range sometimes they are not always in stock. Please allow 7-12 working days for dispatch and 1-3 days for delivery.
Artist's Bio
"Beauty and realness of the natural world is what captivates me. I do not paint real scenes or situations as a photographic camera would capture, although I attempt to paint reality.
Much of my work is intuitive, opening with a vision often upon a waking moment, followed by a desperate scribble into a sketchbook. An imaginary stage is conceived, personifying a piece de resistance of nature, and with a little pain, much patience and a whole lot of joy my next painting is born. I liken my paintings to children, the bond formed during the process of creation is strong, and they feel like loved ones when I send them out into the world.
Amplifying the compassion and warmth of these heart-filled creatures, who live in the moment, I verge into portraiture. Placing Tui and Piwakawaka upon pedestals, I admire their wisdom and integrity through stories and legends which have been told. I introduce objects of sentimental value to reflect their importance in an attempt to bring awareness of their fragile existence, an ongoing essence throughout my work.
